Ferroelectric polymers and their nanocomposites for dielectric energy storage applications

Dielectric capacitors deliver the highest power density and operating voltage among known energy storage devices that are integrable in modern electronic electrical systems. Ferroelectric polymers promising dielectric media for film due to their superiority excellent properties, high breakdown strength, flexibility. Polymer-based nanocomposites by incorporating high-dielectric-constant nanofillers into ferroelectric polymer matrix exhibit great potential superior performances. This Perspective focuses on development progress of high-energy-density nanocomposites. First, approaches proposed tune hysteresis suppressed losses polymers, which is premise achieve efficiency. Second, properties greatly depend multiple factors such as nanofiller features, polymer/filler interfaces, spatial composite structures, effective strategies enabling enhancements constant strength discussed. In last part, some existing challenges future perspectives develop polymer-based materials applications.
